Current Fields of Work:
Extremophile microorganisms, extreme environments, polar science, geomicrobiology, remote sensing.
Perspectives for Contribution to the Hub:
As an astrobiologist with research experience in extreme environments, extremophiles, and Antarctic science, I can make significant contributions both in research and outreach as part of an interdisciplinary team. My work includes the design and execution of studies in terrestrial analogue environments—such as polar, desert, or volcanic ecosystems—to understand the limits of life and its implications for the search for extraterrestrial life. I have field experience in Antarctica, including microbiological sampling under extreme conditions and biochemical and molecular analysis. In outreach, I translate scientific knowledge into accessible narratives, designing educational activities, workshops, and lectures for diverse audiences. I also promote the participation of underrepresented groups in science, incorporating differential and territorial approaches in science communication strategies.
